Chris and Lammo decided to have a little ‘shoot off’ to see what the real advantages of a Polecam vs. a regular Jib.
The results speak for themselves. ‘This just goes to show that Polecam is there to give Jib style shots when a regular jib is just not practical – there’s a time and a place for both but the Polecam work seems to be growing and growing as it is fast becoming an established industry standard’ says Chris. ‘The ability to build and re-locate with ease is appealing to more and more and now with 3D on a Polecam – it’s a no brainer!’ ‘I have both Polecam and Jimmy Jib’ says Lammo.
” I love to shoot both and there are things you obviously cannot do with a Polecam that need a regular jib, but the merits of a Polecam are clearly visible. The HD (and even 3D) quality from the tiny cameras is stunning. Prime lenses and huge depth of field (if needed) give a uniquely different field. Try putting a jib in a boat! No thanks!’
